What is People's Poll?
A place to see published public opinion polls on the 2026 elections and national questions, all in one spot: the polling average for each race, how it has moved over time, and every poll behind it, each linked to its source.
Where do the polls come from?
From published polls compiled by The New York Times, which we use under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. The averages and charts are our own calculations. The Sources page lists every pollster and every poll.
How do you calculate the averages?
Full details are on the Methods page.
Do you adjust polls paid for by a party or campaign?
Yes, a little. In candidate races and the generic ballot, a poll sponsored by a party or campaign is moved 2 points toward the other side, because sponsored polls tend to favor their sponsor. These polls are marked (D) or (R) in every poll list. We don't make any other adjustments for individual pollsters.
What happens to unusual polls?
When a race has at least three polls, a poll whose margin is far from the others counts for less, so one odd poll can't swing the average on its own. Polls with missing numbers or impossible dates are held for a person to review before they count.
How often is it updated?
We check for new polls every three hours. The date at the top of each page shows when the averages were last updated and when the newest poll was taken.
Is this a forecast? Who's going to win?
No. We show what published polls say, not a prediction. There are no odds, chances of winning or betting of any kind.
Why isn't my state's race here?
We cover the most closely watched 2026 Senate and governor races that have published polls, plus every House district with a published poll. Email support@peoplespoll.com if there's a race you'd like us to add.
I think a poll is wrong or missing.
Email support@peoplespoll.com with the pollster's name and a link to its release. We fix errors quickly.
When can I answer the questions myself?
Soon. When it opens, you'll answer the same questions the pollsters ask and see the people's answer beside the polls. Leave your email on the home page and we'll send you one note when it opens.
What do you do with my email if I sign up?
We use it for that one email and nothing else. It's stored encrypted, never shared or sold, and we'll delete it whenever you ask. See our Privacy Policy.
Are you partisan?
No. People's Poll is nonpartisan. Headlines are generated from the numbers the same way for every race. We publish results as they fall, whichever direction they point, and we don't accept payment from campaigns, parties or PACs.
Who publishes this?
Onward Media LLC. We don't sell user data, run ads, or accept payment from campaigns or advocacy groups.
Is there an iPhone app?
Yes, it's on the App Store. It adds alerts for races you follow and easy sharing.
